Read at the right challenge, then write
LangStep's reading sessions organize three difficulty versions within the same text family. Learners can change versions, answer a comprehension question, and connect the completed reading session to a writing record.
What changed?
A single reading level can be too difficult for one learner and too easy for another, while reading practice often ends before the learner uses the language in writing.
- Adds easy, matched, and challenge variants for a shared text family.
- Recommends a variant using the learner's ability stage and vocabulary profile.
- Tracks the reading session and links it to the following writing task.

How to use it
Start with a short text, notice the language you need, and write a response that remains your own. Use support as a next step rather than as a replacement for thinking.

What LangStep does not do
- Variant recommendations are starting points; learners may still need to switch versions.
- The three versions preserve a text family but do not make every word equally familiar.
- A completed reading session records practice activity, not reading proficiency.
